15.334. Epitaph of Bitos(?), also called Asterios, cursor of the phylae

Description: A small stele (w: 0.37 × h: 0.75 × d: 0.25) with only one prepared face, slightly recessed; above this a rough circle is the only trace of decoration.

Text: Inscribed on the prepared face (prepared area 0.39 × 0.255); the surface is very worn.

Letters: Irregular cursive hand , 0.015-0.02.

Date: Third-fourth century (formulae, penalty).

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Stray find.

Original location: Unknown.

Last recorded location: Museum.
