Description: Garland sarcophagus with unfinished portrait busts, w: 2.14 × h: 0.79 × d: 0.86. Pedimental sarcophagus lid with two bosses and decorated with akroteria, w: 2.04 × h: 0.35 × d: 0.84.; The sarcophagus has a tabula ansata with inscription and double scallop handles raised by Erotes at either side; in the corners, standing Nikai raising a garland above their heads; grape clusters hang from the garland; in the front roundels, two unfinished portrait busts: at left a woman wearing chiton and mantle; at right a man with himation.

This sarcophagus belongs to Marcus Aurelius Apellas, son of Pereitas, son of Kallikles, son of Epikrates, son of Artemidoros. In this sarcophagus shall be buried Apellas himself, his wife Tatias, daughter of Dionysios, and their sons Dionysios and Apellas. No one else shall have the authority to place another person in it or to remove any of the aforemetioned persons from it, not even as a result of an act of the council or an intercession by a provincial governor, because he shall be impious and accursed and a grave-robber, and in addition to this he shall pay to the most sacred treasury 3,000 silver denarii, one third of which shall belong to the prosecutor. A copy of this inscription was deposited in the registry-office during the second stephanephorate of Attalos, son of Menandros, in the month Gorpiaios.
