Description: White marble statue base shaft (w: 0.56 × h: 1.18 × d: 0.48) with moulded panels on all four sides.

Text: Inscribed on the front panel. l. 1 is cut on the upper moulding. The text must have begun on an upper feature, now lost.

Letters: Lines 1-18, 0.0275; lines 19ff, 0.03; Omicron in line 20 cut small.

Date: Late second to third centuries CE (lettering, nomenclature)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Walls, South-east Gate: Below modern ground level, east of the gate, with 13.304

Translation

[So and so honoured so and so, son/descendant] of Apollonios, high-priest, treasurer, chief temple-builder, twice chief archon, twice secretary of the People, chief councillor, who has also carried out all the other offices and liturgies honourably (scil. in a manner inherited) from his forefathers; a kind man and moderate and generous in all matters concerning his fatherland.

Marcus Aurelius Zenobios Jason, high-priest, his brother-in-law , took responsibility (scil. for putting up the monument).
