11.416. Honours for Iulius Aurelius Ktesias

Description: White marble statue base shaft with well cut moulded panels on three sides (w: 0.42 × h: 1.13 × d: 0.40). The top has a square cutting in centre; the text must have begun on an upper feature.

Text: Inscribed on the face within the panel (w: 0.26 × h: 0.97).

Letters: Standard forms; ave 0.025, Φ 0.03 ; apices slanting down from left to right over initial Ι in line 5, Υ and Ι in line 6, and from right to left above Ρ in line 5.

Date: Second to third century CE. (lettering)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: City, South-west: in a field wall west of the Hadrianic baths, roughly midway between the baths and the city wall
