11.414. Honours for Lucius Egnatius Victor Lollianus, proconsul

Description: White marble statue base shaft (w: 0.55 × h: 1.22 × d: 0.55) with fully cut moulded panels on three sides and a roughed out moulding at the back, chipped along all edges; there are clamp holes on top for the attachment of a crowning cornice which no doubt carried a statue and was also inscribed.

Text: Inscribed on one face (panel w: 0.385 × h: 1.04).

Letters: 0.02-0.03.

[e.g. The Council and the People (honoured) L. Egnatius Victor Lollianus, clarissimus, proconsul on several occasions, pure and just and the adornment of every virtue. The responsibility (for the statue) was taken by Tiberius Claudius Julius Candidus Hegemoneus, being First Archon, son and grandson of highpriests of Asia and highpriest (of the city), cousin of consulars.
