2.312. Funerary inscription for Zotikos

Description: White marble sarcophagus lid re-used as a trough (w: 1.965 × h: 0.29 × d: 0.81).

Text: Inscribed on the edge of the sarcophagus lid (w: 1.965 × h: 0.08), which is rubbed in places and pierced by several holes; some of the damage was done before the inscription was cut. The text must have continued on the box of the sarcophagus.

Date: Probably third century CE (lettering)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: In the excavation of the Bouleuterion/Odeon, North Area
