Description: A block, statue base shaft, with moulded panels, which has been cut down to create a panel 0.7 deep.

Text: Inscribed within panel and on upper (line 1) and lower (lines 34-35) mouldings (lines 1, 34-5). The opening lines must have been inscribed on a crowning feature.

Letters: Lines 1-29, 0.02; line 30 ff, 0.013. Standard second/third century forms.

Translation

[The Council honoured ?Menandros ] son of Menandros, the oeconomus of (the body responsible), who competed in the boys' pankration with distinction, (at) the celebration of the Philemoniean contest by the neopoioi of the most manifest goddess Aphrodite, led by the most renowned Ant(onius) Car(minius) Po(pilius) Agelaos, chief-neopoios; the erection of the statue took place from the income of the whole Council, (organized) by Antonius Aurelius Euelpistos, the boularch. Which Menandros was crowned, having won (in) the contest also, as is made clear by the other statue of him, put up before it.(?)
