15.356. Epitaph of Ioannes and others

Description: Left side of a white marble masonry block without moulding (w: 0.18 × h: 0.28 × d: 0.20). The left, upper, and lower sides, and the back survive.

Text: Inscribed on the face (a) and on the underside (b) suggesting that the face perhaps lay upwards.

Letters: Irregular, clear and tall, 0.025-0.03, cross 0.05; Κ with scroll on lower arm for καὶ.

Date: Fifth to sixth centuries or later. (dating, lettering)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Tetrapylon: S.Tetra, 85-1, B XI

Original location: Unknown.

Last recorded location: Museum.
