15.339. Funerary fragment with relief

Description: Fragment, without edges, from a white marble sarcophagus (w: 0.36 × h: 0.45) with traces of a garland above.

Text: Inscribed below, on either side of a relief showing a male head and body with left arm raised to one side.

Letters: 0.05-0.07; lunate epsilon not very neatly cut, with V-shaped trenches which are not polished.

Date: Third century CE (lettering)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Stray, brought by villagers
