English translation

Translation by: Joyce M. Reynolds

The memorial and the ?[tower] built on it [ . . . ] where the way down is in front to the south [ . . . ] for ?libation. It was comstructed by Hermogenes son of Menodoros [ . . son of -]doros son of Demetrios, and Apollonios and Hermogenes and [ . . . ] the children of Hermogenes for themselves and their future [children and] grandchildren and their successors. No-one of the heirs of successors has any authority to alienate either the tower or the memorial below it, either under the name of sale or concession, since he who does anything in the way of alienation, in whatever manner, and he who receives it will be liable to a charge of impiety, and shall each of them pay to the imperial fiscus each ten thousand denarii, as from a conviction, of which the third shall belong to the prosecutor; and (scil. the places) mentioned above shall remain among the consecrated. The current facsimile of this inscription was deposited in the Property-Archive in the second stephanephorate of Attalos Adrastos the heroised son of Neikoteimos, in the month Deios.
