Decision of the Council and the People, proposal of the magistrates and of Hypsikles the son of Hypsikles the son of Menander, secretary of the People, and of Menippos son of Teimokles the son of Polemarchos, the general for the countryside: since Titus Antonius Lysimachos Grypos, son of Adrastos, of the (scil. Roman) tribe Quirina, a man of the first rank and descent, has now died, who among all had given his native land many considerable gifts, and himself from first youth had outdone all by the dignity of his manners, and by the conduct of a virtuous life and by his own deeds added to the [reputation] of his family as also in his lavish fulfilment of magistracies and public services and embassies and regulation of the market and generous gifts and liturgies, and in a very lavish tenure of the high priesthood; and our People in grief at the event was impelled to honour the man also/even after his death woth appropriate honours and to crown him with the crown of Virtue, and also to offer consolation to Antonia Tatia, daughter of Neikoteimos, his mother: the decision of the Council and the People was to honour Antonius Lysimachos also after his death, a man deserving of all honour, with the finest honours, and to crown him as he deserved with a crown, and also to offer consolation to Antonia Tatia, daughter of Neikoteimos, his mother, urging her to bear what has been brought about by the divinity with courage.
