4.104. Gladiator memorial for familia of Tiberius Claudius Pauleinos

Description: Part of a white marble stele broken away above and below (w: 0.41 × h: 0.30 × d: 0.18). There are traces of a decorated panel above. For a full description see Kontokosta (2008).

Text: Inscribed on one face within a plain raised border (panel w: 0.33 × h: 0.21).

Letters: 0.02, perhaps early second century CE; square sigma; there is a circular stop after every word, except for καί, and at the end of lines 4 and 6.

Date: Early second century CE (prosopography)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Place of Palms/South Agora, West Portico.
