15.280. Gladiator memorial for Pheropes

Description: The right side and lower edge of a white marble panel-stele without raised moulding (w: 0.325 × h: 0.44 × d: 0.165). The relief shows the lower part, from the chest downwards, of a gladiator (a retiarius) wearing body armour, with bare legs, advancing to his left; he holds a short sword in his right hand and the staff of a trident (whose head is lost) in his left.
