13.107. Jewish(?) graffiti in a bath-building

Description: Marble panels in a threshold within the bath-building beside the extra-mural "Nymphaeum".

Text: Graffito on the top face; while a. may be complete on its stone, b. is certainly not, and must originally have extended onto flanking panels.

Letters: Rough and uneven letters in an unprofessional hand, or pehaps several hands, probably quite late, 0.03-0.04; lunate Ε, Ϲ, and Ω except in the second hand of i, cursive Δ, and Μ in i, cursive Α in ii.

Date: Third century CE or later. (nomenclature)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Necropolis, North-east: cut on threshhold of building adjacent to "Extra-mural nymphaeum"

Original location: Necropolis, North-east

Last recorded location: Findspot (1981)
