Description: White marble sarcophagus lid (w: 2.15 × h: 0.38 × d: 0.89) with sleeping erotes at each corner in front, and gabled ends.

Text: Inscribed on the rim, including the bosses; the text will have continued on the body of the sarcophagus

Aur(elius) Fl(avius) Elpidephoros constructed the sarcophagus and the burial places below it, in which has been buried Aur(elius) Fl(avius) Epitynchanon, his father, and shall be buried Aur(elia) Fl(avia) Elpis his mother, and Aur(elia) Aphrodeisia (scil. daughter of) Tatianos the (scil. son of) Tatianos the (scil. son of) Alexandros the (scil. the son of) Krokos, his wife and M(arcus) Aur(elius) Epitynchanon also known as Alexis, (scil. son of) Athenagoras the (scil. son of) Athenagoras. There shall also be buried Elpidephoros himself, but no-one else [---]
