1.107. Fragmentary honours

Description: Upper part of a round-headed marble stele (w: 0.33 × h: 0.48 × d: 0.15), chipped on either side as well as cut away below; within the head is an incised olive wreath with pendant taenia that impinge on the body of the stele, above the text. There is a hole in the underside for attachment to a shaft below, which must also have been inscribed.

Text: Inscribed on the face.

Letters: 0.015; circular letters small; theta with dot in centre; adscript iota.

Date: Perhaps third to second centuries BCE (lettering)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Temple/Church: 'Temenos I - III, dismantling water channel A'
