1.10. Names with gameboards

Description: White marble steps.

Text: Inscribed on upper face, each next to a gameboard: i. A board, H.4, deeply cut, (w: 0.28 × h: 0.13). ii. To the west of i, a mill game, SSS.1 (w: 0.27 × h: 0.26); iii. To the west of this, two concentric squares, apparently cut for an uncompleted board, type SSS.1 or 2 (w: 0.186 × h: 0.181).

Letters: i: roughly cut letters, with broad trenches, 0.03-0.04; ii, roughly cut, 0.07; iii, 0.03-0.04.

Date: Fourth to fifth centuries C.E. or later. (nomenclature)

Findspot: Aphrodisias: Temple/Church, Temenos: top step up to south colonnade, towards east end.

Original location: Temple/Church: findspot.
